'Mothers' sees the disciples taking on an evil wasp witch who kidnaps children and takes them to her poison mountain. In 'At the Top of the Mountain', Monkey flies back to China after Tripitaka dreams that his mother is dying. The Great Sage discovers that the lady in question is indeed at death's door, but decides to keep the information from Tripitaka so as not to distract him from the journey to India.

In 'Keep on Dancing', a married human woman whose Buddhist dance offends Tripitaka falls foul of an amorous goblin who has fallen in love with her. 'Give and Take' sees Pigsy turning vampire hunter in order to raise money to cure a blind girl he has become fond of. In 'Such a Nice Monster', a monster who only wants to be liked dresses up as a puppy dog, but only succeeds in becoming more terrifying. Tripitaka attempts to help by ordering his disciples to befriend the creature.

In 'The Country of Nightmares' Monkey is forced to disguise Tripitaka as a beautiful female demon when the pilgrims travel through a land populated by hellish monsters. 'The End of the Way' sees Tripitaka's life placed in jeopardy when the pilgrims' path is blocked by the King of All Geological Ages - just days away from India! 'Pigsy's Ten Thousand Ladies' has Monkey, Pigsy and Sandy desert Tripitaka when they become disillusioned with the pilgrimage. The bonus episode - 'The Fake Pilgrims' - is presented with English subtitles.
